East German Smokers

Not content with being the big scoring noise alongside Paul Walsh with Manchester City during the mid 1990's, he also scored the last ever goal at The Dell against Brighton. Although no longer mixing it with glamorous names such as Ian Brightwell and Richard Edghill, he now plies his trade as boss of Norwegian InterToto part-timers, Lillestrom; who as you'll be aware drew with Newcastle at St. James Park on Saturday July 15th. Of course, I'm talking about Uwe Rosler.

Well, as chance would have it, an associate of mine Richard Conklin, was spending a weekend in the Marriott Hotel in Gosforth Park that very weekend. As a soccer enthusiast, you can imagine his excitement when he clocked not only Rosler, but his number two Gunner Halle - him of Oldham Athletic fame - suited and booted at around 1pm for their big inter-toto game with the Toon.

He thought nothing of it, and continued to spend the rest of the day getting trousered, until the midnight hour when he noticed a familiar face indulging in drink and heavy smoking. It was Rosler. After exchanging a few friendly words he departed. Moments later, Conklin and friends found themselves dancing - as you do - to 'Summer of '69,' before Rosler, noticing that one of Conklin's associates had woman about him, burst into the circle, singing and spraying his bottle of Bud like Champagne. By now thoroughly intoxicated, Rosler proceeded to become overtly flirtatious with all females in his vicinity. Conklin and friends were said to have had to escape via a fire exit to escape his horny clutches. Gunnar Halle was nowhere to be seen.

Training on Tuesday 1st August at 6:45pm at Osborne road, Warsash.

I hope you all enjoyed the training last night,I think I did although my calves disagree it was encouraging to see so many there.I am changeing the venue next week for two reasons. The gap between the shore run and ball work etc and a flatter surface to train on.See you all next week. The gaffer

**Justin Newman is on holiday until 8th August** When asked by "90MinutesOfSheerBurridge" on his conditioning, the silver haired veteran quipped, "I'm in peak condition." Before adding, "I look forward to meeting up with my new team-mates after my hols."

i really enjoyed training actually. although osbourne road will be a lot better because of the surface.

jay, you said to me during the world cup, that you were one of the fittest in the team?? what happened last night? why did you start walking during the run?

Even myself and Andrews beat Jay back, yes that's right me and Andrews.

Good first training session, by the look of it we're all going to take the league by STORM.

Thoroughly enjoyable, look forward to next week.

Great story about Rosler.

Hewitt, I had to carry Jaymondo up that pebble slope three times. Up it! He got to carry me down it. Where is the justice?

It'll pay dividends come match day one.

Jay, use me as your role model.

Well its all that healthy food i've been eating, think i'll change me diet. I'll be back next week, as long as i don't eat b4 training.

Mark Sanderson said...

I feel I - as I live with him - can comment on Jay's diet, which consists solely of what can be microwaved or what is found in styrofone and silver trays.

Ultimately a diet devoid of fruit, vegetables, carbohydrates, protein, and iron.

Remember: you are what you eat.

lets not worry, he's promised us he'll be back next week. whatever that means..

Just a quick update training as previously published I am away on a pre organised holiday for two weeks from the 14th to the 28th Aug.I beleive Dykey has arranged a friendly within this period so put in a good performance I will have a mole in the camp who will be reporting back!Arranged a friendly on Wed 30th Aug 7.00pm against Hamble Harriers venue to be varified.

excellent. so thats 3 friendlies so far. also my dads veterans team has agreed to play us in a warm up match before the season kicks off.

they will chuck in some ringers as well, so it will probably be more of a test than some think!

that will probably be arranged for a tuesday night and they will more than likely have mount pleasant rec as the venue. i hope to have more information on that at thursdays' training session.

Who the f**k is the mole in the camp?

They're not moles, they're snakes.

Rich quits burridge and Ross go's 2, they're signing 4 a better team, Hedge End. Not a loss i don't think.

Training 2 go ahead as planned at wildern, in september.

leildo said...

rich, ross and ben. can hedge ends team get any weaker? mesa thinks not.

Mark Sanderson said...

Before we forget, Ross Bryant has our kit! But he's agreed to drop it round Andrews' house before Saturday's fixture.

hey mark, not only does the body work look in good order but whats under the bonet seems to be running fairly smoothly too considering.
good job lee on your organisation skills! although i don't go much on u'r opinion of osbourne rd.
as for rich, ross and ben leaving, i would always swap them just for one iceman!
Brynaldinho.

as far as i was aware mount P would nt be available untill late august as pitch not marked out - i was suprised that your dad may be able to get it to be honest

Kristian said...

Lee, i know you say signing Rich, Ross and Ben makes Dead End weaker, you forget they still have Seabourne up front. Iceman is having nightmares as we speak.

Bring on that lanky streak of piss! I played against him about 4 years ago for Survey against Hamble Club, easiest game i ever had.
