COMING UP.....

Okay,

Saturday 29th's friendly is OFF.
At present Sunday 30th's game versus the Spotted Cow is on.
Presentation pencilled in for June 17th at Rising Son, Warsash.

Question for Paul Andrews: are you still having your annual bar-be-que this year?
If so, on what date (FA Cup Final: Liverpool v West Ham is on May 13th this year).

i'm going to miss training - i propose occassional saturday morning kick-a-bouts that should incorporate elements of world cup doubles (aka wembley doubles to the ignorant)

I too am going to miss training, i will miss that competitiveness! Maybe Saturdays game being called off is a blessing, as hopefully everyone will be fit for Sunday against top of the league.

Lee, with regards to the Scolari debate, all i've got to say is he's better than Eriksson!

1. Shame the friendly is off - due to lack of players i assume?

2. Bar-be-que is on and scheduled in for the 20th of May, the week after the cup final.

3. Due to Scolari probably being appointed, the English media can breath a sign of relief as i have made myself available for international selection as from July 2006.

Shucks Paul, I'm away for the 20th, nevermind! Actually I think I'm away the week before too. I was always going to miss one somewhere along the line - law of averages. I did manage 5 in a row, which is no mean feat.

It is a shame Mark, nevermind, if your plans change you know your more than welcome to come along. I'll have other bar-be-ques.

Scolari is better than Eriksson? Come on Iceman! Sure...he won a World Cup with Brazil but I would question whether he is better than Eriksson. I realise that I am probably alienating myself by saying this.

Kev and Paul do you remember that heated conversion in the taxi on the way home? I think it was just after the Northern Ireland game. We tried to involve the driver but he wasn't interested.

I don't believe its the manager that is the problem but the mentality of the players. I reckon Scolari will be no different from Eriksson. Eventually, everyone will be saying how much we need an English manager. After a few years Scolari will get hacked off with the media and leave. We'll appoint an crap English manager for the sake of it and then fail to qualify for a major championships and everyone will want Eriksson back. Mark my words...I had a dream.

Oh Scotty, how hindsight has quite overcome you! Leading up to the World Cup in 2002, Brazil weren't given the time of day. The experts hadn't really heard of Ronaldinho and Ronaldo was dismissed as past it as he had barley played in the four years since the last World Cup. Did you not know that Ronaldo's odds for being top scorer were something like 12-1! France were the red-hot favourites to claim back the World Cup, but went out in the group stages without scoring a goal! Ronaldo's World Cup performance in Japan was one of the greatest comebacks in Football, but overlooked by people because they forget, and assume that Brazil were favourites. Eriksson? He's got to two quarter-finals, that appears to be his level. Scholari has got to two finals, winning one and then got Portugal to the 2006 finals without losing a game. So who do you think is the better coach?

They're completely different. If we take the should the English manager being English debate out of the window, Scolari's the best man for the job. He'll shake it up a bit, rather tahn letting the established players dictate things. Who knows, maybe he'll even have the balls to drop Gerrard (over-rated)?!! C'mon Dykey - let the biting commence!

Yes, with Big Phil, nobody will be in bed with manager or so to speak. Beckham really ought to do himself a favour and leave Real Bad Joke FC, surely time for big JT to claim captaincy. Sorry Becks.

Has he ever taken you up the Arsenal?

Scott, what is your obsession with the inadequate swede? He couldn't motivate grass to grow. Anyone could get England to the quarters of any competition.

He had his time granted, his results show no consistancy, Germany 5-1, tick, Out played by Slovakia, struggled against the great powers of world football, Macedonia, N. Ireland and Liectenstein. Great manager? Balls.

Get Gene Hackman in, drop some of the big names, remind them what they are playing for, then bish bosh bash - world champions. easy.

Sorry Scott, I have to agree with Mark and Brian Deane, I would rather have Scolari motivating the team than Mr I make such crap substitions at critical times in critical games!

I think Scolari is more tactically aware, Eriksson doesnt seem to know what to do when England are up against it. Just look at the way Scolari changed the course of the game against england in euro 2004 with the changes he made, all Eriksson did was bring on Phil Neville when we were trying to win the match, i rest my case!

Anyway i have heard that he's just declined the offer, good on him, why shouldnt he get paid the same salary as the swede? I cant imagine any of the english manangers would want to be second choice now, The FA are useless!
