Beaney Park FC 0 -2 Burridge AFC

Pre-Season: Saturday 5th August
Southampton Sport Centre

Burridge recorded a comfortable victory in their first fixture without the recently departed trio of Allan, Bryant & Wilson. The fixture was originally scheduled at The Clump, but rearranged for the sand based astroturf more suited to hockey games it was designed for. In spite of this Burridge adapted to the conditions quickly, Greg Baker made his way through on goal from the left and neatly side footed home across the path of the goalie; Kristian Hewitt then intercepted a pass and was given too much time from outside the penalty area - his right footed strike found the keeper's bottom right-hand corner. Burridge continued to control the second half but were unable to add to their tally, ending the game comfortable winners.

4-3-3 (then 4-4-2 in 2nd half): Alex Clegg (Sam Schwodler), Luke Sanderson, Paul Dyke, Kev Willsher, Mark Sanderson, Jay Schwodler, Greg Baker, Kristian Hewitt (c), Bryn Schwodler, Lee Fielder, Paul Andrews (Matt Burkes)

**NB EXTRA FIXTURE: FRIENDLY VERSUS TEAM SOLENT BEING ARRANGED FOR SATURDAY 12TH AUGUST - TIME & VENUE TO BE CONFIRMED**

team solent in the same league as us?

mark please advise.

Yes, I was led to believe that Team Solent (Solent University previously known as Southampton Institute, managed last season by former Saint Jon Gittens) are in our league after beating Hedge End to Junior One title

As opposed to Solent Work Trade & Labour, who beat us 4-0 in last game of last season in a midweeker at Itchen College, have as Champions been promoted

Ross, is that you?

If it isn't you'd have noticed that I have been wearing a headband of sorts to training and indeed during games.

good training this week well done lads.As you know I am on holiday for two weeks so I suggest that any training in between friendlies is carried out at Burridge from now on.All the best Saturday Sandy and Christian will be organising team selection /substitutions etc on my behalf give them your support.Jay wil be handing out tickets for the burridge do in Sept.I want each player to sell at least two so that we can make it a successful event.Lee Fielder will be captain against his old mans cronies on Tuesday.Team selection for the next two friendlies will be made by Sandy & Christian.Dykey will do the subs against his team.Meanwhile have a good break from the riggers of my training.I will also be having a barbecue on sunday 27th aug 2 pm for all the players and girlies if you have them.Bring some beer i will provide the suasages and burgers anything more exotic bring your own meat.Have a good go at these teams and i see you all when i'am back the gaffer

I would like to wish all our teams good luck for the coming season. the pitch is looking much better already and with the help of your £6 per game we can buy some nice top soil.i look forward to recieving your cash to maybe buy a trailer to go with the 9 seater mini bus to carry remainder of players. when did teams play with 11 on the field that must be a new rule for this season all these rules, might have to put subs up to a tenner.
