Burridge AFC 1 - 3 West Meon

Sunday 11th December 2005
Burridge Rec

3-5-2 Dave Hopkins, Mark Sanderson, Paul Dyke, Kev Willsher, Ross Bryant, Greg Baker, Rich Allan, Scott Burnet, Bryn Schwodler, Paul Andrews, Jay Schwodler
H/T: 1-0

Hello everyone. I thought I'd let guest writers fill in the gaps - I'm suffering from a bout of writer's block. BUT, I have to mention that the league table makes for upsetting reading. As Spotted Cow have pulled out, we have only won once. The same amount of times Gems have!

This means we are second to bottom, as West Meon & Warnford have gone 2 points ahead of us with 4 games in hand! Played 9, won 1, drawn 4, Lost 4. Before Sunday's games we'd scored the same amount of goals as Gems.

Relegation battle on!

Its very depressing at the moment, we are not scoring enough and conceding too many, we must all work harder to try and turn things around! Yesterday summed up our season really, we just can't punish teams, they were a pretty poor outfit and we should have won comfortably. Do we really want to suffer the indignity of relegation?

Okay fellas, dust off your Sunday blues, because this Saturday we've a real six pointer - away to Survey. Let's face it, whoever plays for them, we still owe them one from last year. Remember that penalty?

We're on the same amount of points, BUT we have two games in hand, let's make it count!

After looking at the table I feel like I want to go home and cry!

I'm down on Saturday so I'll come along and watch the game.

I've already thought it through. Netley Country Park, running on the seafront. Perhaps with a tyre on a rope attached to our backs, starting in late July, early August.

You're totally right Dykey, but no-one ever listens. When it comes to pre-season, half the team don't want to know. If you're not fit at the start, you're never going to be. I knew this would happen when we played that first friendly...

Start running now. Everyone together before training, for at least 1/2 hour, then once a week on your own. How many people up for that this Wednesday? Oh what a surprise...

Why I ought to ring your neck anonymous. Your bugging the hell out of me!

Your welcome to join me on either this evening or Thursday for a light gallop.

Look on the bright side, we're never involved in the title race. Usually we're loitering without intent in mid table. At least we've got something to play for and there's plenty of time to do so.

I do my own running thanks Mark. We only loiter around mid-table every season, because this happens every season. When half the team are content with being un-fit and are happy at going through the motions, we will continue in this mediocre way.

I have decided to concentrate on my game from now on and am going to try and excell the best that I can, that's all I can do. I haven't enjoyed playing the last month or so, either day, and I just hope it improves next year. There will be no more anonymous posts from me again this season, so I won't bug you anymore Mark.

I'm sorry anonymous I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

You big gaylord!

I've shown you mine, now show yours!

Anyway, we bulldozed them first half Sunday. Although Paul has exceeded my expectations up front, having him & Jay up there is asking a lot of them. C'mon Jay we've all seen your shooting! FOUR!

I'd get him at the back, tackling and hassling, and put me in midfield so I stop setting the oppo up with freebie goals.

I think you should concentrate on your own game anonymous and stop making sweeping generalisations. How do you know what people get up to all week, I keep myself fit. Also put a name to your comment if you have so much confidence in what you say.

Sounds like a job for Mr Motivator( Derrick Errol Evans)

You have to check his site, the music is fantastic.

My breast op was a success so I am available to run the line on sat, providing its not freezing, not wet, not suicidally dull and we concentrate on keeping the ball rather than moaning about our defencive inadaquacies.

I do agree that anonymous should have the balls to reveal his identity. His point about fitness is true though, i for one admit that i am not as fit as i was last season, playing two games in a weekend kept me so much fitter, i thought cutting down to one would improve things, i was wrong. Anyway, lets get this relegation battle underway, im up for it, who else is?????
