Sunday 15th October
Allotment Road, Warsash
Amongst the cloud and drizzle, another draw merged into the echoes of previously tied games; as Burridge remained unbeaten. The game was a succession of unfilled movement and imagination that neither side seemed prepared to leave behind - until Paxton's opener - a thirty yard free kick that was bent over the defending wall into Hopkin's top corner.
Burridge stood firm and allowed little opportunity for Paxton to increase their lead, whilst not threatening to equalize themselves. Ross Bryant was moved from sweeper to the right flank, and it was his driven cross that was nurtured by the returning Kristian Hewitt, and delicately passed beyond the keeper's reach for the equalizer, and a point each was assured.
3-5-2 Dave Hopkins, Kev Willsher, Ross Bryant, Mark Sanderson, Greg Baker, Paul Dyke, Rich Allan, Jay Schwodler, Paul Andrews, Kristian Hewitt.
Other scores:
Aquaseal 2-3 AFC Spotted Cow
Gems FC 3-15 Spinnaker
Waterlooville Social Clb 3-0 Wickham Dynamos
West Meon and Warnford 3-0 Spotted Cow

as jay would say im wasted in defence ! right wingback bryant!
maurice is turning into the tinker man again.
great finish mr h. USA USA USA
Is that rich diving?
Anyone know why Spotted Cow have had all their points deducted?
So that means that one of the two games that we've won we would have won anyway, even if we'd lost!
i'm having pens on saturday's and sunday's now. after my man of the match display yesterday, i deserve them. and i'm now taking throw ins, goal kicks and will also continue to miss fre..i mean take free kicks. USA..USA..USA
i did not make that last comment. lee or mark stop it.
dive! you cheeky git.
no doubt a penalty in my mind.
what ?
hedge end, house i hope. why ?
lodger no thanks !
we need the yellow boot man back!
the local fans have gathered outside the burrige social club waiting for barfoot to come out after this mornings training session to comment on who will be captain this week ???
nice to see my name up in black and white again. i do work during the day you know, girls. crap yesterday..again.
since everyone is putting their name forward for penalty duties, i will enter my name forward. Used to take them for Hedge End back in the day, long, long time ago! I was proud to skipper the side yesterday, i quite enjoy the role in Sonny's absence, although next week im sure it will be normal service resumed. Oh well, was good while it lasted.
gems only had 8 men on sunday.
I feel i need to put forward three observations from this weekends play.
1. Great result saturday, upon reflection sunday could have been better but another point helps, "from a small acorn grows the mighty oak".
2. Penalties - I seem to remember being crowned 'Penalty Champion of the World' on two consectutive occasions when we used to play with the bigger boys in the Pirelli days. Need i say anymore?
3. I've seen a lot in my life, an end to racism in South Africa, the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 symbolising the end of the Communism in Europe, even England win the Ashes. But did anyone else notice that Bryn has tax on his car? Until 2006? I've seen it all!
Also, aside from Fish and Chip matey, who may or may not show up on wednesday, we may have another interested player, an Australian student studying in Southampton who is fed up of playing in Basingstoke, apparently he's quite good. But he is another midfielder. When it rains it pours!
Judging from numbers for next saturday, shall i just leave him on the back burner? Thoughts please.
While we're on the subject, i wouldn't mind the odd freekick now and again, i quite fancy some in off the post action!
Sundays performance....
Lost in Translation
first half, the two parties getting acquainted with one another, with the plot ebbing and flowing, as we await with baited breath for a dramatic twist in the tale, which never really materialises.
Guys, I was somewhat bemused when I heard you could only manage a draw against Paxton, but from all accounts it sounds as though you had to work hard for it.
Paul, I like the Bryn tax disk story. I also can't believe he's actually paid for a tax disk. Are you sure it’s genuine and not just cut out and coloured in with felt tips? As for this Australian, he actually plays the kicking game? Remember Australians call rugby football. I would hate to see him turn up, pick the ball up and run it into the try zone...actually I would love to see that!
Willsher, just remember I want the captains arm band back next week. One point, from one game, shows that you simply don’t have what it takes to be skipper. If you don’t relinquish the arm band we will have to do battle to the death like Kirk and Spock. If one of us doesn't die, they will kill us both.
For all those that are interested I ran the Nike 10 Km in 50 minutes, 47 seconds. If you click in the link below you can see me finish. I took the place of Kai Yee's cousin's who is a size 10. It wasn't pretty trying to fit into the top believe me. Watch out for me as I look as though I belong in a 'Gay Exchange' advert.
Bring on Aquaseal!

gems only had 7 men on sunday
And they still scored 3!
I don't imagine they'll be hanging around for long; which is strange. Why decide to not turn up to games when you finally get promoted?
i just wrote that to prove to iceman that no-one can possibly know what happened during that game. they could have scored 15 penaltys for all we know.
how could i know they only had 7 men? honestly.
Well then Dykey, I guess it will be a fight to the death between Kev and myself to see who is the skipper. I'm Kirk and I have the sword and shield as my weapons. Kev can have the net and tridant. Should be some interesting pre-match entertainment this Sunday.
On a separate note, some good points have been made about judging teams on there results. We have to look at the bigger picture as opposed to just the score. Maybe they had the bare 11 and a few got injured. The opposition ran in a couple of quick goals which lead to the team's collapse, who knows?
good point pointing out my good point scotty b.
After watching the lads on sunday for the 1st time in years i realise u miss matt and barry up front and sayer in the middle and without me there is no pace at the back, so we may make a come back.
Watch your back Bryn!
48 hits ! we need a new blogg mark
some interesting challenges being proposed, can i just say Sonny, im a lover, not a fighter! Did you honestly feel threatened by my captains role for the day? Shame on you!
Also good to see Wiso on the blog, like you say, we have missed your pace and composure on the ball, do you remember your cruyff turn a couple of years back?
hi guys, wossie here again.
Very briefly this week and given the run of draws it could only have been a matter of time before this old chestnut came along
The Equalizer
fast paced but with no real direction, and an all too easily predictibale scoreline when Kristian 'Robert McCall' Hewitt scored the equaliser. with nothing really to write home about with regard to the match, how about these little chestnuts
As well as writing the music, a few guest appearances were also made by former Police drummer Stewart Copeland
Other stars of the music world who also appeared include 80s legend Adam Ant and Beastie Boy Adam Horowitz
Other notable appearances came from Robert Mitchum, Kevin spacey, Christian Slater, McAuley Culkin and the oh so beautiful Melissa Joan Hart
Hopefully next weeks game will give me more to talk about....
