Aquaseal 4-3 Burridge AFC

Sunday 13th November
Wicor Rec
Back at the familiar surroundings of Wicor Rec, Jay Schwodler was led to reflect on what had been a fairly miserable weekend. After enduring defeat the previous day at the hands of our local rivals, then discovering he'd had sixty notes pinched, he'd assumed that he'd seen out any further bad luck. But, these things tend to come in threes. After enjoying an evening of casual boozing at the Bugle alongside esteemed colleagues such as Mr Allan, Mr Willsher, Mr & Mr Sanderson and the other Mr Schwodler, (Not to mention Lee Fielder), he went out into the cold night air for a curry. So far so good. In a cab home he realized his keys were missing. No drama there, he could kip down at his old man's house - couldn't he? No, like Mary and Joseph had discovered, there was no room at the inn. Sixty quid lighter, and by this stage aware that he'd lost the cap of his tooth, giving him the look of Peter Beardsley. He trudged from West End back to Grange Park, smashing a window (the vandal) to get a decent night's kip. Only to discover that he'd left the keys at Rossy's gaff all along - what a carry on.

Anyway, I digress. The game itself was like a Richard Keys wet dream, goals a plenty. Despite the fact that two games from the same division were taking place on adjacent pitches, the referee was conspicuous in his absence, leaving Maurice Hewlett to take charge. Rich Allan tucked home his sixth of the season (putting him one behind Bryn, what's happening Brynzil? The goals are drying up), there could have been a few more, but very quickly they'd gone 2-1 down to some long range shooting. Paul Andrews finished a flowing move by walloping home the equalizer, but at half time they were 3-2 down. Again Burridge equalized, when another sweeping move was finished at the second attempt by luckless Jay Schwodler
. But, it wasn't to be as Aquaeal avenged their cup defeat, by heading a winner.

3-5-2: Dave Hopkins, Mark Sanderson, Kev Willsher, Ross Bryant, Scott Burnet, Paul Dyke, Jay Schwodler, Rich Allan, Lee Fielder, Paul Andrews, Bryn Schwodler

Okay, next week, we're away to Wickham Dynamos. We'll have 11 players with the addition of Luke, plus Greg Baker has kindly agreed to run the line, in Maurice's absence. It was decided that the ten regular members would by him a pint afterwards in thanks. Ten pints for Baker it is then.

Ps I contacted the Meon Valley league by email last night, expressing our dissapointment at the lack of ref, our frustration was compounded further by the fact that games in the same division(Gems v West Meon & Paxton v Wickham) were taking place on adjacent pitches with referees. Maurice had to do it, with them taking both lines, which put us at a distinct disadvantage.

Sometimes the organisation of this league leaves a lot to be desired!

Oh shucks, too late!

I certainly wasn't inflammatory, but I thought they should know that we had no referee on Sunday. It is afterall in their interests as an organisation to know.

PS Barrie, the majority of our Sunday team are away during the last week of Feb and first week of March 2006. Is their any chance we can avoid fixtures on these dates? We simply won't have the numbers.

Give me the dates and we will write to the League and ask for cancellations, sooner the better.

Okay Barrie, the dates are Sunday 26th February & Sunday 5th March 2006. Thank you.

Another sickening defeat, again in very disappointing circumstances. We must bounce back from this latest setback and put in a good performance against Dynamos next week. We are in danger of becoming a soft touch at the moment.

Don't forget to bring your red socks next week lads - they tend to wear blue at home.

Ok mark saturday was a bad day 4 me, but things improved on sunday even though we did lose,i mean at least i scored and then again in the evening or did i? things went well thats all i'm saying.

And as 4 the tooth thats being sorted 2moro.

As 4 the money well i won't be paying subs 4 a few weeks, 12 infact just to make my money back, i think everyone else should do the same, surely the club can afford to 2 lose £60 cos i can't.

Lets bounce back next week with 2 wins!

Why do you think you should get away without paying subs jay? You are told time after time NOT to leave valuables in the changing rooms. Although you can never condone stealing someone elses property, the responsibility does in fact lie with you to make sure you personal belongings are safe and secure.

Despite what people may think, football clubs of this size would and DO miss money when players fail to pay their subs and fines, so suggesting you go without paying and also trying to persuade others to do so, is totally out of the question.

Q; How come we pay £5 a match?, nobody else we know does, and where does the money go? certainly not on our dodgy pitch.

What ever happened to team spirit? Jay's comment about us losing on Sunday but at least he scored, isn't it supposed to be the other way round? What a team player!

that is a bit off jaymundo - i scored on saturady (my 1st this year)but was very very very very very upset with the performance and genereal team performance at every level.

lets hope it starts to get better soon.

PS i hereby start a call to ban all bitching from our matches amongst ourselves, we are getting as bad as Spinnaker and it personally is making the games less and less enjoyable to point the point where i sometime i think i would rather not play
