Burridge 0-2 Durley

Another football season has come to an end. Burridge will probably finish in 10th place. This wouldn't be such a bad position if there were 60 or 70 other teams in the division, but seeing as there's only 12, even describing Burridge's season as an average one might be a little generous.

Burridge - third from bottom in the senior division.

After all, the league tables do not lie. The league tables don't run a prostitution racket down by the docks either. What I'm trying to say is that luck has nothing to do with losing exactly half of your 22 league games and conceding very nearly two goals per game. It's more to do with the fact that you're not particularly good.

Burridge - lots of grass.

No football now for 3 whole months. This spare time could be put to good use by learning something new, something constructive, something that will change my life for the better. Or I could learn French. But I won't. Thumbs will be twiddled and no doubt by around 1:33pm next Saturday, The Cricketers in Carlton Place will once again benefit from my Maestro card.

You play cricket as well? How about a picture of your gear then? Do boxes come in different sizes?

Evening Bananas.

Burridge do have a cricket team, but you need to drink real ale and have a beard.

Yeah disappointing season lads, like Mark said, we just havn't been quite good enough. There's always next season.

Sandy you need to resist the lure of the Cricketers despite how hard it may be. I have very faith in you.

I'm sorry about your season. But isn't half something? Or don't I know what the hell I'm talking about...

maybe in your off-season I'll take some time to learn something about the sport, and then I can comment with more intelligence! About something other than the fetching-looking boys...

But Fields will still take his clothes off, won't he?
Many thanks for popping by. I did go slightly stupid when I saw Fielder's comment!

Wilts - I shall be strong.

Leah - football's only a bit of fun, the most important bit is going to teh pub afterwards.

Gaffer - you're a shining light to us all. 52 but still going strong.

Jimmy - thank-you. We will.

Scarlet - don't you worry. If the sun's out Lee will take his clothes off, I can guarantee you that.

Regards,
Mark Emerson Sanderson.

Yeah, he's right Scarlet..

It's a real shame we had to lose our last game on Saturday, but to be honest, if I was a little sharper and fitter I would expect to score 3 or 4 goals on my own against a team like that!

Was thinking, you know the draw we did at the beginning of the game.. was it to take a penalty or to give one away? Thought Kev might have got confused..

Very good Fielder, i see what you've done there! And yes i thought it was to concede a penalty so job done in my eyes!

What shall we do over the summer without the daily agonies of waiting to hear if you've won or not? A nation awaits.

Madam Defarge, im quite tearful that the season's over, not only am i going to miss the blood and thunder of football on a saturday, but im also gonna miss this blog, im not sure i can handle a 3 month adsence, let the agony begin!

Don't worry, Savannah. The football season might be over, but the blogging will continue.

Fargey - they'll be plenty more agonies over the Summer...

Will Rich Allan be stood up at the alter?

How much weight will Kristian Hewitt put on after his honeymoon?

How will Sam Schwodler adjust to fatherhood?

Is there anyone left for Lee Fielder to have it off with?

Will Greg Baker ever master the art of changing his bed sheets?

Who will play in goal for Burridge next season?

The list is endless.

Looking back (bringing back the blog)
